there is nothing hamfisted about RVM. That's an incredibly emotionally engaging song that gets to the thematic heart of Ten without the bombast.
yeah, kouse. when I left town after my divorce I heard RVM and it struck an emotional and relevant nerve with me. so there.

It doesn't allow the listener to think about the music, it just forces it upon you. Other than Jeff's playing, everything is flashed on the screen in front of your eyes.
The emotional weight and escapism is all there in IMT as well, but it makes the listener earn the reward of connecting, RVM gives it away.

When my girlfriend was cheating on me with another student there in ital, i put RVM on my discman and put it on repeat and went for a long goddamn run. It was nice.

Both are incredibly amazing songs but In My Tree is the right choice.
