I absolutely love both of these songs. They are both incredibly dark and haunting. On any given day either of these songs could have cracked my top 10. They are both my favorite songs from bands in my top 25 at worse.

As I stated before, there is no way that I could do a top 10 that includes all of the music I have enjoyed over the years. That list would include dozens if not hundreds of songs that I could claim as top ten. In lieu of doing an all time top ten I submit my top ten of the last couple years.

1. Soundgarden - A Thousand Days Before
2. Mark Lanegan - Harborview Hospital
3. Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds - AKA...What A Life
4. R.E.M. - Discoverer
5. Jack White - Freedom At 21
6. Mark Lanegan - Phantasmagoria Blues
7. John Mayer - Queen of California
8. The Black Keys - Little Black Submarines
9. Thrice - Yellow Belly
10. Blink 182 - Ghost On The Dance Floor

Honorable Mentions:

R.E.M. - Mine Smell Like Honey
8MM - The Weight Of You
Dave Matthews Band - Snow Outside
Mumford & Sons - Below My Feet
Eddie Vedder - Without You
College/Electric Youth - A Real Hero

The meat that they serve in Canada always seems to taste like sausage. It doesn't even have to be sausage. So, I was saying that even though my music list might be Canadian heavy my top meat list wouldn't be.

about half of that list would be pretty close to my TW top 10

You might want to try a different restaurant next time you're in Canada ;)

pretty close indeed, you'd be off by about 2.5 songs.

apparently I would have to do a "non-Tom Waits top ten" to introduce any variety to my list. I think other people start to show up around #20.
