I wonder which RM account user is Pearl Jam's Mike Finger...

Tonight's episode was pretty enjoyable. They seem to only get every second one right which is a bit annoying. That blogger episode with Rainn Wilson was truly terrible.

I'm still enjoying it but Bill (Luke Wilson) doesn't seem to have any sexual heat or tension with any of these women, especially Shelly (Carla G.) they need to fix that.

What episode are you on? And well it is a professional touring environment and I know in reality that sort of thing is frowned upon on tours cos it's such close quarters and crew do hop between different bands tours etc.

Last night was EP 6. The one with Marc Maron.

edit: Just realized how what I wrote could be misinterpreted.
I meant, they show him having tons of groupie sex but he doesn't seem to enjoy it. Then they pair him with Shelly whom we are supposed to believe he's got sexual tension with but I don't see it. Wilson has no spark in him no matter who he's on screen with.

Tonight's episode was good. I'm assuming Crowe didn't write it. Nice touch incorporating some real live footage of a real band in the story telling.

He was credited as writer in the opening credits.

Just watched. I thought it could only have been written by Crowe. That's neither here nor there. Such a touching episode. And a story well told. It's wrapping up and obviously we aren't getting a second season. But it's getting better each episode and it's a shame it won't continue.

Yeah you're right, Phil's story was very Crowe and what I'd been hoping to see more of.

It was easily the most personal of the series so far. Sounded like Crowes own words coming out of Phils mouth tbh

Dammit I do love this show. Hope they get a second season. However unlikely that's looking.

I've enjoyed it but it feels like a missed opportunity too.

How so? For being a weekly hour long ad for pearl jam or something else?

I think the premise of the series was great but that it just didn't quite hit the mark for me. I was hoping for more of those Almost Famous type feels. Like when Phil did his story or when the bus had a curse and they had to break it, that sort of thing. The phrase running 99 yards in a 100 yard dash spring to mind.

That's odd. My pal said he liked it but wanted it to be a bit more real and it felt too much like almost famous.

And the Pearl Jam references sucked the most. The whole sacked as Mike McCready's guitar tech thing was a bit lame. As was the revolving door of support bands thing. It was nice that they mixed up the musical guest, but there is no way any booking agency would be that incompetent. That annoyed the shit out of me.

Ah cmon. It was a great chance to give lesser known bands coming up, some exposure.
Vedder is in the final episode. I am actually intrigued about what'll happen there.
