Of course not, but once I'm all nice and connoisseur'd, I fear I'll lose that cheery beery innocence. Right now I'm like a 6 year old listening to music-- I like just about everything. Even shitty watered-down light beers.surface the north wrote:There's nothing snobby about learning, Jorge.

I'm sure you had some in NYC that tasted sort of like the shadows on the walls of Plato's cave.theplatypus wrote:Of course not, but once I'm all nice and connoisseur'd, I fear I'll lose that cheery beery innocence. Re: Second Annual RM Beer Tournament (Really)
Okay, the draft order is set. Each player will have 24 hours to draft their beer. We will have six rounds of drafting, and then matchups will occur. I think that to keep this fun, we should be drafting six different styles (IPA, Stout, Witbier, etc.) I'm not going to put any sort of restrictions on what styles can or cannot be drafted, and it is okay to draft variations on a style (for instance, I will accept a team with a black IPA, a white IPA, an imperial IPA and a straight IPA.)
Snake style drafting, of course. Good luck, players.

Re: RM Beer Tournament 2013: Round One (vegman)
Cool. I've never been in one of these tourneys before so I'm guessing I just pick my six beers?
I'll stick with beers that I have not only tried but that I can buy here in Buffalo and drink regularly.
Ithaca Flower Power DIPA (Still my favorite go to DIPA even though there are so many good ones out ther)
Ole' Rasputin Russian Imperial Stout (best tried on nitro but great from a bottle too)
Great Lakes Edmund Fitzgerald Porter (fucking amazing beer. Period)
Victory Prima Pils (wasn't sure about including a pils but it's a really good beer)
Saison Dupont (Brasserie Dupont in Belgium. )
Ayinger Brauweisse (an awesome German Hefeweizen. This brewery also makes a killer Oktoberfest)
Most of you guys are probably familiar with the first four but the last two are definitely worth trying. Perfect representation of the styles IMHO.

You only get ONE pick at a time! Better make it that Victory or I'm gonna snag it.vegman wrote:Cool. I've never been in one of these tourneys before so I'm guessing I just pick my six beers?
