No. The other guy's been around since the 40's. He's been known as Captain Marvel up until the new 52. Because of trademark laws, they can't call him Captain Marvel on the covers due to the Marvel version of the good captain.
My kids' Marvel dictionary calls that guy Captain Mar-Vell.

Ronan is a surprise. If they do a good job with him in this (and Marvel villians have been pretty good the lasst four films) I wonder if it will retroactively make his performance in Guardians stronger.
