They've underwhelmed. He's been amazing. Imagine if he got a really great story in the hands of a strong director.

That's what I keep hoping for. He's done a lot with so little.

While not a fan of the First 3 X-Men movies ( I haven't seen anything after those) or the first Wolverine movie, I actually kinda liked that last one.

He already had a good movie - the first X-Men.

Yep. That was awesome. The mansion scene was so good. It hasn't been matched or surpassed.

you mean the one in X-2, right?

the X2 beserker rage scene and the one in apocalypse are all world for me
as far as my commentary on something good or bad as a comic movie goes I am not looking for The Piano or Schindlers list type writing. I am looking for a good translation from book to screen and realize liberties have to be made.
Weapon X (with deadpool, blob, kestral, maverick) was well done and had they not made deadpool the laughable bad guy at the end id say it was a pretty damn good movie
i liked how they had all the little nods, like the hudsons etc to flesh out at least a bit more of his history. the origins part when he is a little boy and he and sabretooth going through history together was a nice touch too

Shit. It was X-2. I'm the asshole. Sorry about that. I'll do better.
I don't think anyone was asking for dramatic, award winning material here. I think a lot of the x-men material has just been pretty bad. I can't put my finger on exactly what it is but something has been off. Too mechanical maybe.

It stopped being visionary after the first two. And it's not like Bryan Singer was much of a visionary to begin with.

You mean like when Aronofsky was supposed to direct the last Wolverine movie?

i dont think the last couple not being visionary has as much to do with singer as youd like to think.
the studio execs got their hands in the cookie jar and what were once delicious snacks were made into crumbs
i think you give singer the same control with no questions asked (other than can you stay in the budget) and things would have been different for x3 (truly wasted juggernaught as well as the cure story line and dark phoenix)
the studio tried to cram way too much in there and the story truly suffered for it

you said it stopped being visonary after the first two and then said its not like singer was ever a visionary
which is it? he did the script for the first two and directed it. it was his vision, so either you have some other explanation as to what you meant by the first two are visionary but singer was never a visionary or you just contradicted yourself in giving a move praise for being visionary that was the work of singer and then saying its not that visionary

I agree. I liked it quite a bit (again, outside of Deadpool).
