Plus it's just another fucking screen for people to walk around with their face buried in. The robots have taken over.
My wife had the same thought, and she extended it to the ipad that the school issued to our son. She doesn't like him using it too much and I feel like we don't let him use it enough. Until about a year ago, we hadn't had a video game console in the house and even then we bought a Wii. (No, that isn't missing a U.) I feel like his future is going to have a lot of tech in it - barring some odd WW3 scenario - so the more experience he has with it the better.
I support this parenting decision!

Hopefully they sell them. Problem with the WiiU is you can't replace the gamepad. I tell my kids all the time be careful with it cause if it breaks no more WiiU. I suppose I could find one on ebay or something but still.

I bet they will and there will probably be different colors and button configurations.

Looks cool. I'm sure I'll get it. Nintendo consoles are the only consoles I've cared about since I started gaming on my PC years ago, so it's kind of a given that I'll get one eventually.

I'm kinda confused by the online stories about Super Mario Odyssey.

Is there a true multiplayer game now or is it still just a co-op mode?

Also, can we get this moved to the VG subforum, please?

Not a multiplayer game unless you count the second player controlling Cappy. You can however hide balloons in worlds for others to find.

I have that same screen protector. It is great.

Carrying case

Pricey, but awesome.

Pro Controller is a must.

I don't have any additional charging stand or anything else. My joy cons have never run out of battery because I almost always leave them attached to the console itself.

I bought a second dock, a pro controller, a wired imitation pro controller and I know I got an SD card but haven't needed it yet.

I think those are good. How's the wired controller? I don't think I've used one of those in 15 years.

I haven't tried the wired controller myself but the kids have and haven't complained. Even with the wireless they sit 2 feet from the TV I'm forever telling them to back up.

The 1st party wired 360 controller was great. I love not having to worry about battery level.

I remember being flabbergasted when Xbox had a wired controller for the 360. I know a lot of people liked it though.

I'm guessing that'll be the last 1st party wired controller ever. I'd buy a great wired controller for a new console if they existed.

I just have a short USB cable plugged into the front of my console that charges my controllers when I'm not playing. It has never been a problem.

I got so close to winning one of these yesterday. You know the stacker game in arcades? I was able to get the line all the way to the top twice but just couldn't land it. Ugh.
