Since 2016 Ed is a flat, two dimensional recreation of 1990 Ed, that might work.

Considering they only have one album, I think most people were expecting a bunch of covers. What else do you want them to do? Go on tour and play ten songs each night and be done?
This is a lot different than Pearl Jam, who has 10 studio albums + all their other shit. When they play 7 covers a night it seems cheap.

These setlists have me all juiced up to try and go to one of these shows, and it looks like I can do the LA show next monday night. I can make a business trip work for it.
Anyone going to the LA show?

I don't want them to do anything else. I asked where the bitching was, b/c I thought for sure this place would be full of setlist bitching.

war pigs-- wow!
those "covers" look awesome .
covers are always awesome, no? a surprise and a delight, what a way for a band to open up its repertoire.

I think the setlists look great.
I wish Pearl Jam played shows more like this, both in terms of length and having a thoughtfully-chosen setlist that remains more or less set in place for a whole tour.

The unexpected nature of the set lists is what sells out the shows, my evenbro. If they toured an album, then maybe, otherwise it would damage their brand

I totally understand that, I just would prefer a different approach.
For the record, I think playing full albums in order is a bad idea too.

It's also what is actively keeping me away (I know I'm in the minority). This last tour was the first time I skipped an opportunity to see them within driving distance, but shoot...The odds of getting a drunken Eddie warbling through a Backspacer and Lightning Bolt-heavy setlist are just too high.
I can understand that. 2016 was a mixed bag.
It seems like they are doing TOTD just right, I just don't think the format would work for PJ

shorter shows and playing more or less the same setlist each night?
that sounds like a suckfest for both the fans and the band.
speeno, just stop it!
