Agreed, it's visually stunning. There are like 10-12 shots per episode that could be Renaissance paintings, and I think that's 1000% intentional. The whole endeavour somehow successfully juggles a scathing critique of the hypocrisy and ridiculousness of the church with maintaining a sense of awe around the ceremonies and mythology.

1000x. Also, they are masterful at vacillating between sheer ridiculousness and something profoundly spiritual that makes the viewer be introspective whether she/he likes it or not.

This show is one of the best television shows i've ever seen. it's so deliciously strange, but stunningly beautiful.
i'll be sad if it ends after 2 seasons. but if it does, it will have ended perfectly.

Season 2 didn't even come close to Season 1 for me. Combined with the mess that was Loro and I think Sorrentino has lost his edge.
