Pearl Jam Twenty states otherwise. From page 203:
August 4: "Single Video Theory, a look behind the scenes at the making of Yield and rehearsals for the 1997 shows opening for the Rolling Stones..."
Yield was rec'd in February and June 97
Febbraio/Giugno 1997 - Studio Litho - Seattle, WA; Agosto/Settembre 1997 - Studio Litho and Studio X - Seattle, WA and Southern Tracks Recording - Atlanta, GA
Ed Vedder - vocals, guitar, background vocals; Stone Gossard - guitar, background vocals, bass on 'Do The Evolution' and 'No Way'; Mike McCready - guitar; Jeff Ament - bass, background vocals; Jack Irons - drum kit, percussion, vocals on 'The Whale Song'; Brendan O'Brien - organ, piano

As LMS said, the dates wouldn't add up. Yield was done recording by September and SVT was recorded in early November.

What we think we know is Yield rec'd Feb and June 1997, and the Stones shows were Nov 14-19 1997.
Plus the quote - "Single Video Theory, a look behind the scenes at the making of Yield and rehearsals for the 1997 shows opening for the Rolling Stones..."
Wikipedia wrote:The film was shot in 16mm film over three days in November 1997 in downtown Seattle. It features interviews with the band members and behind-the-scenes footage of the band's rehearsal sessions for its shows opening for The Rolling Stones.

I always took it as this.

I think that's what's happening there. They're trying to translate it to just 2-3 guitars.
It's surprising that they sat on Yield for that long after it was done recording.

Plat and LMS are right, SVT post-dates Yield.

Mark Pellington says it's a doc about the making of Yield.

Mark Pellington interview in the recent 3 part Celebration Rock podcast about Pearl Jam. They interview Mark in the last 30 (or so) minutes of part one. In that he calls SVT a making of Yield doc. I just listened to it. Was listening as I pasted in fact.
