In that photo you linked to, I was more interested in blowing it up to see if I could read what the sign about WiFi said in the background behind Ed's amps. What kind of instructions need to be given for the use of WiFi in the Pearl Jam warehouse that require a sign being printed and posted on the wall? I cannot help but wonder.

I hate it. Mike uses it on his solos and it makes it sound like hell sure does make his flubs sound better, you can hide behind it for sure. He is going for a Hendrix sound with it which is great and all but he over-uses it to the point of Eddie Van Halen sound.
Can't stand it. I have a Phase 90 on my pedal board that is practically new. Anyone want to buy it?

Eddie Vedder's insanely amazing 3 tweed ear bleed 1950s Fender amps that he plays in Pearl Jam and also his Solo Gigs, I'm not sure but it looks like 2 Fender Tweed Deluxe amps on each side with a slice of low powered Fender Tweed Twin in the middle, add some Fender Special sauce early 1960s Tube Reverb and A MXR Delay on top and that's a Hot Hot Hot Rock N Roll sandwich! Way to many pedals and other goodies to mention. Ed Ved, Ohana Fest, Dana Point, Calif.

Seems like quite a bit for such a singular tone? Beautiful amps though.

I've always found Stone's tone in particular to sound like and amp playing inside a cardboard box on the 2000 bootlegs. I'm not sure if it is the way it was recorded but I think it sounds terrible. Whatever he did to change his setup from 98 to 2000 in the pursuit of 'perfect tone' ended up kinda messing it up to be honest.
I definitely think that too many pedals and too much messing around with setups ends up kinda muddying the waters. Sometimes simpler is better.
So maybe Eddie has it right?
In discussing band set ups and gear, the problem is that most of it seems almost unattainable to the average muso. They're playing with vintage guitars, multiple vintage guitar setups and effects racks. I'm interested in how they started out and what gear the pros used when they didn't have the bucks to spend. How to get awesome tone with one or two amps and what pedals (if any) were absolutely key to awesome sound.
Page played for many of his golden years pretty much strength into amps with maybe 1 or 2 pedals. Hendrix prob the same.
Rant over

I approve of this thread..
Let's talk about Eddie's guitars and guitartone.
He always plays clean, no effects. He's ben using the same amps for years and years.
So what is you favorite guitarsound?
The Fender Telecaster sound, played 1993-1996, 2005-2016:
The Gibson SG sound, played 1998+2003, sometimes 2015-2016:
The Schecter PT sound, played on the 2000 tour:
The Deussenberg sound, played occasionally 2006-2016:

Nice. Any idea as to what they all are? I see an MXR Phase, Boss Trem, and perhaps another MXR that is a flange?

This is real nice right here. Has he really not played it since 2000?

Shecter PT and Hi Watt is the best Ed tone.
Even ed's fender setup in the 94-96 era is better than today. I dont enjoy his tone at all these days.
