I'll watch them all either way and I think The Eternals has a lot of potential. I'm just a little salty that it's been so long and we're kicking off with a prequel.

Well, it was supposed to only be a few months. Go post in the "This is how COVID screwed me" thread.

Shang-Chi has lots of potential depending on how faithful they are to the comics. The original premise is pretty interesting.

Good news.

What? MODOK? Isn’t it on HULU? They typically do a week-to-week. I didn’t even know it dropped already.

Yeah, all 10 episodes dropped at once. It's like Robot Chicken meets King of Queens in the MCU.

You know I hesitated to even make this post because it would provide an opening for all the Marvel fans to just roll their eyes at another hater of 21st century mythology or whatever, whereas I actually stand by the claim that stapling Zhao's (overwrought) filmmaking impulses to a relatively forgettable superhero movie is incredibly fucking funny. But this trailer, woof. The communal coffee joke? These are fucking Dilbert rejects.
So, my wife is interested in checking out some Marvel films. She's not sure if she wants to totally commit to seeing ALL of them yet. She wants to check out Black Widow at some point. As such, she's wanting to get sort of caught up to some small degree.
Ya'll have any recommendations on how to start this process? She's seen Iron Man 1 & 2, Hulk, and Black Panther already. Should I just start with the ones I think she might like more than others? Should we go in release order and leave it up to her which ones we skip? Should we just start with the Avenger movies?
What do you recommend for someone who is kinda interested but not wanting to totally commit to the full mythology yet?

I'd just try the 4 Avengers movies. Throw in Captain America Civil War.
I doubt she needs intros to the characters and that'll cover all the tentpole moments of the MCU.

I guess the iron man movies are a must and then the captain america ones. Not sure if Avengers and Ultron are needed. Nor the Thor movies or the Guardians...Dr Strange is also not needed. Nor Ant Man.

Add the first Spider-Man and Ragnarok for some good fun. And Ragnarok literally goes right into Infinity War.

I'm not sure I can get her to do the Spider-Man movie (though I love it). But I was thinking about adding in Ragnarok. That's a good call.
And I'll probably suggest Doctor Strange too just because I fucking love it and I think she will too even though it isn't really "necessary."
