That's what I meant -- the complex suites, the odd time signatures, the technicalities -- things that are components of "musicianship," I'd say.
I'd love Tool if it wasn't for Maynard.

Tool is a mix of Alternative Metal and Progressive Metal. APC is mostly just Alternative Metal/Rock.

Speaking of APC, I think the music video for "Judith" might be my favorite performance-based music video of all time. So much of it is about the process of performance, focusing on the little moments -- adjusting the sound board, the guitarist picking up the slide, Paz tying her hair up during her brief break, Maynard setting the water bottle down. I wish it didn't have the goofy film effects but it's really good otherwise.
