I'm with McParadigm; on paper, a six minute Ed solo song sounded like it could be a car wreck. But this is a great song.

That’s what I meant though. A six minute Ed solo song being this good is a major upset.

Yeah, I should've said I agreed with both of you. It's a very pleasant surprise. I think, even though I may have a few lyrical quibbles, I like how Ed is going for it. He's never been a particularly expansive lyrical songwriter in the way he goes for in this song.

For some reason this song reminds me of Jets to Brazil every time, it may be the chord progression

This is the only track I find myself skipping now and many of you guys loved it. Probably because I'm not fluent in english (only understood "Comes and Goes" and "and The Kids Are Alright" there) and the music progression is not enough to keep my focus on this focusness. So thanks for the lyrics, it should make me appreciate it more.

The lyrics are excellent. I can totally understand how not fully following them might diminish the power of the song

Yeah, this is pretty powerful. Surely he wrote this about Cornell, and even if he didn’t, it’s pretty much all I think about for 6:02

it's the first time he hasn't done a rehash of ITW (which i adore) since 2007.

If it's truly about Chris Cornell (how could it not be?), then its lyrics are among Eddie's most personal ever.

Incredible song. 5 Stars. Best song in this vein since Small Town.
