I’ve got a lotta quibbles with this movie, but Murray and that scene isn’t one of them. His purpose was to highlight what Pfeiffer’s leaving did to the quantum realm.

She trapped Kang there, but other than his opinion, is there any indication that she could have stopped Kang from enslaving the realm?

Who can take Kang seriously as a threat after getting beat by Loki and Ant Man? Now it will take an entire Avengers team? Yeah right. Major's alleged bad behavior might just save the MCU by making them switch directions.

I went into this with zero expectations. The first half was a disjointed mess. The second half was a disjointed mess, with kinda fun b movie vibes

I watched this the other day with my daughters. I was expecting the worst, but maybe my expectations had been lowered enough - I didn't hate it

Unlike Eternals which you expect to be long and boring, and it is IN FACT longer and boringer than anyone could possibly expect it to be.
