Which is the worst? Not including Hard Eight if you do in fact think it is the worst.
It's not Hard Eight.
Inherent Vice?
Hey Len. It's not that one either.

That was my next guess, but part of me was hoping it wasn't true. God I love that movie.

Steve Albini wrote:Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Punch Drunk Love
The Master
There Will Be Blood
Magnolia
Boogie Nights
Hard Eight
Inherent Vice

I need to rewatch the last two though. I appreciated a lot about Inherent Vice, but like trag said a rewatch could change something.

I think in fifty years, TWBB and Phantom Thread and The Master will be the ones people are still watching

Wrong. Boogie Nights is one of the greatest movies of the 90s, perfectly captures/stages American "End of History"

The second half of Boogie Nights didn't grab me as much as the first, but I've only seen it once so I suppose a rewatch is in order also.

as far as I can tell, the guy has three masterpieces, three excellent movies, a good movie, and an uneven movie
