She has this innocent or guileless way of talking that I find disarming and endearing. She's a bad actor precisely because she can't lie, and that makes her good in a lot of roles.

Or is she playing 5D chess and she is a great liar, and this is exactly what she had planned?

Lots of layers here. Levels upon levels of acting. Moves and counter-moves. She could very well be the greatest actress of all time. Who can say really?

I agree, she delivers every line of every role like she’s about to cry, yes

It works well for some things. Like True Romance.

That's a gross and fundamental misunderstanding of what acting is.

Steve Albini wrote:Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Patricia Arquette rules.

Nightmare On Elm Street 3, Lost Highway and Stigmata should be obligatory to everyone.

I've been thinking about it, and True Romance has too many banger performances to be crappy. You guys are wrong and should feel bad.

Plenty of bad movies have good performances in them. No one is disputing there are great performances in there.

Remember when Christian Slater decided he was Jack Nicholson and his career went in the shitter? Was that before or after True Romance? I can't remember.
