You might even get an award.

It’s settled then!
I'm never watching another Hollywood movie again. Indie Japanese dramas from here on out
Same!

I'm much more curious to see the opinions of married men on this one.

The small sample size of this thread is varied but leans towards empathizing with big Willie style. My hunch is that it scales accordingly across the internet, but we'll see.

I'm still shook by "The Flash entering the speed force" winning best Stand Up and Cheer Moment.

Wow. Obviously the Fresh Prince and Princess can’t take a joke. Totally overreacted. And Nat X handled himself very well. He got a little tongue tied as he was presenting the award, but who wouldn’t after that?

I’m sure the alopecia stuff was tough on Jada, and of course Will would feel for her, so I get the emotions that boiled up inside him after the joke, but that doesn’t mean it’s okay to act upon them in a violent and aggressive way.

fine tree_ thread among duds and not-quite duds. I'll admit.

I don't disagree that his reaction was extreme, but calling it violent and aggressive feels a bit pearl clutchy. A fist to the face would have been different, but this was, dare I say, a near gentlemanly slap.

Reid did you catch the part where Will yelled "Keep my wife's name out yo fucking mouth!!" several times? That was less than gentlemanly.

Not to mention he had to get up out of his chair, walk onto the stage, and then go back to sit down. That's a lot of time to collect your thoughts and to change your response.

I caught all of it.

A shitshow, but I do not consider it the bellweather moment for toxic masculinity and violence that some people are making it out to be.

Just feels like there's a lot to the incident to unpack before we all scream "the horror"! The marriage aspect is an interesting one to me.

His screaming, his speech, the slap, everything reads as violent behavior. Also, the two faces between being super cool and funny and getting into the abusive mode.

Im sure the Smiths are a piece of work

To me it's more absurd and hilarious than horrific.

What do you think the words violence and aggression mean

Regardless of whether you feel it was justified that was unquestionably an act of violent aggression. That's like the most dispassionate, dictionary-accurate description of what it was
