He asked for help in the original Pearl Jam thread and I volunteered. I will slow down. Sorry for going too fast.
Thanks for the help -- I will undoubtedly lose motivation if I'm the only one doing it. Ultimately I don't care what the pace of the thread is; if people want to do 10 songs per day, then go for it. The one-per-day thing was just an off-the-cuff suggestion.

Next song at around 8am tomorrow, unless KD beats me to it! Also, I'm going to be taking weekends off.

We arrive at the first song in this list I believe is genuinely great. I think everything here -- composition, lyrics, performance and production -- is gorgeous. Billie sings like she's wringing every last drop of emotion out of each word. I love how the verses start at the very low end of her register and steadily rise, and by the end she's straining to hit the final high note. I love the elegant downward sway of the lead-in to the chorus, "quiet when I'm coming home...". It's a very simple composition but anything flashier would've detracted from the sentiment, an unguarded moment of vulnerability, a brief admission of heartbreak. It's also why the song should not have been any longer, perfect at just over 3 minutes. Big fan of this one, 8.5/10

i don't have a problem with Eilish, but this type of thing bores me. Nice voice though.
I give it 5 bags of popcorn and some food coloring to dye the popcorn the same color as Eilish's hair.

After Tree's bullshit today I'm too agitated to judge this song fairly though.

I agree with all of this. I was shocked to find out how good her songs are with how popular she is. Might as well have a song from Moonshaped Pool on this list. It's weird.

I agree this song is excellent. She sings with an emotional wisdom that belies her young age, which is such a weird juxtaposition against the music video, which seems like the kind of angsty adolescent crap that could only seem exciting to someone that age. Oh well -- I'm sure I'm missing the point of whatever it is she's trying to do with it. This is an immaculately composed song -- it has an almost Broadway-like quality to it, like I could totally imagine as a solitary moment of reflection in a much larger narrative (similar to "On My Own" from Les Mis, or "I'm Not That Girl" from Wicked). Solid A from me on this one. I'm looking forward to her other appearances on the list.

I agree with this. I get that it’s a good song and all but for some reason it just doesn’t stick with me.

it's definitely not one of her stronger songs (which is why i'm surprised that it has so many plays on spotify)
