Why do you think that this would be worse?

I meant complaining wise, small gorgeous venue and the assumption it will be just like the 95 set. The lotto has taken all the fun out of ticket buying.

No, I used a Selenium-type tool to buy 10c tickets for me because I understand how a computer works.

No, I used a Selenium-type tool to buy 10c tickets for me because I understand how a computer works.

I definitely don't miss having to use vacation time to hit refresh for hours. The most stressful hours of my year. I've already missed out more with the new system (3) than I did with the old system (1), but I love the new system and hope it stays for a while.

The only problem is multiple shows and how to weigh them. Combine that with dual choices of GA or Res it just makes the logistics more difficult.
Especially this rumored Midwest leg.

I wish we knew their methodology. I think that your #1 pick gets more weight than your other picks. And #2 through #_ are equally weighted. That's my guess.

After the drawing entry window has closed, Ten Club will begin drawing names using a computerized random selection process.

Once upon a time, my job duties involved "computerized random selection." There's infinite approaches. If I knew the approach, I would alter my pick order.

Location first, then selection order. They take X number of tickets remaining for a show and Y number of 10cers who picked that show as their #1 choice and start random selecting 10cers from Y to get tickets. If X > Y, everyone in Y ends up getting a ticket pair and they move on to the number of people who picked that show as their #2, then those who had it as their #3, and so on until X is exhausted. Thus X < Y, then when X is zero that show is no longer available for anyone even if they picked it as #1. When all ticket pairs (X) are gone for a show, they move on the next show.


Last time I had:

1.) Balt RES
2.) C-ville RES
3.) Hart RES
4.) PHL2 RES
5.) PHL1 RES

I got 1, 2, and 4.

While it makes sense, I don't think it's true. People with lower priority picks have gotten tickets over other peoples higher priority picks for the same show.

I don't think we ever proved that happened though some people certainly suggested it. It's likely they misunderstood that GA and RES count separately for each show, thus it's possible for someone to miss out on GA for a show as their #1 and someone else to get RES for that same show as their #4. The only weird thing I remember happening is that some people only chose RES and ended up in GA, which I assume means too few people picked GA.

They drew the entire GA section for each show before looking at reserved requests. I think there was a presumption among many that they'd draw winning members for each show and then assign tickets based on preferences.

For someone who didn't attend any of those shows I spent way too much time understanding (and explaining) how the ticket drawing worked.

I'd bet you are correct, but they were pretty clear at the time that this was the case. It's only that RES request -> GA request bit that was a surprise.


I just think that the small ticket count for Red Rocks (>8k?) plus the history of 1995 shows there would make demand so high it would be one of those things a lot of fans get irrationally angry about and in turn piss off the 10c, which will like result in next year's fan club single being an outtake from the Turning Mist sessions.

You know, it's actually pretty easy to get tickets if you don't do it through 10C

It's an easy process to figure out, it's just figuring out what shows are actually going to be more popular than others. (excluding the obvious places). I would assume that KC, STL, Clev, those types of places you should get with your 3rd and 4th picks but who knows.
You never had to decide those types of things. Those are the shows you would just go on the site and buy.
After experiencing GA first hand, I would much prefer those, even with my low number.

I'm not pleased that Lollapalooza rumors would mean no Chicago, Detroit or St Louis dates. Damn 300 mile radius rule. I hope this 1 show isn't replacing the mid west tour.
