If having college directly pay players is too far of a bridge for you to cross, I hope that at least allowing them to do third party sponsorships is reasonable enough for you.

I've always taken a middle ground on this. The idea of flat out paying them I haven't gotten behind, but I'm all for them making money off things like jersey sales, likeness in video games (bring back EA NCAA Football please), autographs, commercials, etc...

I think where I come down on the direct player/college financial relationship is to let the players form a union to offset the practical cartel that is the NCAA. If they can then collectively bargain direct payments in, more power to them.
