Rumor of a Nintendo Direct in the summer and they're coming back to Gamescom for the first time in awhile. Makes me think we are getting a big release around the holidays.

Pokemon is October 16. Maybe Metroid in November? Hyrule Warriors's date has been changed to Winter - given how literal Nintendo stands to those dates that probably means early March. I can't imagine they'd reveal a previously unannounced banger for release in 2025.

this doesn't seem like a game-changer at all for me or the boys (more like a mild enhancement), so i'm going to take my time and get one when the frenzy dies down a bit

No. Wal-Mart will be a local courier that delivers the day of. Target is saying the delivery won't be until the 10th, but nothing has shipped. I'm guessing that's a placeholder date until it actually ships.

No. Wal-Mart will be a local courier that delivers the day of. Target is saying the delivery won't be until the 10th, but nothing has shipped. I'm guessing that's a placeholder date until it actually ships.

I really hope those Wal-Mart+ local deliveries are in a box. Usually they're just in a flimsy bag. Seems ripe to be porch pirated or "swapped" by the delivery driver.

I work from home on Thursdays, so I have a similar plan. Just going to sit by the front window, drink my coffee, and be disappointed when non-delivery drivers go past. I'm hopeful their "deliver by 9 am" promise comes through.

No, but I plan to finally finish Tears of the Kingdom and check out Bowser's Fury with their higher frame rates and HDR.

Same! Walmart wasn't kidding around. I've never had a delivery that early in the morning (6:45 am).

This is the first Nintendo system launch for my kids. It arrived early enough to surprise them at breakfast. They are so pumped.

The system definitely feels like an upgrade. The joycons are much sturdier and larger. The console itself feels like a premium product.
