Yeah, I do think Ed sounds really good here, leaving aside the cheesiness of the lyrics and what the song is attempting. I'd much rather Ed not put such songs on a PJ album and we get another proper PJ track instead. It is what it is, though. I am not hating this nor thinking of skipping it like I did when I first heard Future Days.

I am a bit surprised that Wreckage never made it as a single after all the initial rumours suggested it could be the lead single. Instead, we got 2 songs that aren't album highlights by most accounts (DM is still very good and Running decent). Something Special as a third single would be inexplicable.

In a way, it's good because it leaves almost all the songs that people are talking about in reviews unheard until we get the album. Just not the best way to promote the album, imo.

i mean the promotion of this one has been awful and messy to say the least so who knows whats coming! releasing a 30 second clip followed by absolutely nothing seems a very weird way to get attention

Well, we are posting about how the promotion doesn't make sense. I'm pretty sure that's not what they'd want people to be doing. Anyway, I'm mostly about the actual music being good and hearing the album in full asap. If I like the songs, all else is forgiven.

I'm not sure we really know that this is the 3rd single. They could just be doing something like releasing clips every few days. I think if we don't get the fully song for Something Special very soon that it's not the next single.

After hearing that Wreckage clip, this song makes more sense today

Wreckage is obviously a way better song...but I feel it kind of lifts this one up a bit too

Just hope there's a bit more to Something Special like a nice intro, a decent bridge & a good Mike solo
