You Are, musically, is a lot more... danceable than this though.

Guys. Is that first line in the chorus similar to Christine Ag^^*&&$'s "Beautiful"?

Edit: I decided to read the whole thread and find that this has been covered. Umm, yeah.

And how's ex gonna handle the need part live?
That's a reach quite like that huge one at the end of dissident.

This song does not come anywhere near You Are. You Are is heavy and atmospheric. Get that shitty Aguilera chorus outta here .

That's because it never forgets the groove. It's got that funk all the way through, whereas the "Infallible" chorus (even though I like it) unravels the groove and becomes a straight rock song. That return to the original riff doesn't totally redeem the problem, but it's crucial because it reminds us that the song was based on some groove even if it didn't stay there.

Tbf, "You Are" isn't half as heavy as it could've been, and Matt's drumming decisions were very strange for a heavy song. I love it, but there are different issues with it.

The main guitar riff in this song employs the same chord progression as "electrocute" by Type O Negative. That's cool.

I like the fact that Ed's high register has all the nasal quality of Yield here.

The only similarity I can hear is that "infallible" is a similar word in a similar place in the chorus to the word "beautiful" in the Aguilera song. No melody similarity at all.

The delivery is similar. It's totally the song I was thinking of when I first heard the chorus I just wasn't sure. I'm also hearing a little of a sitcom melody (hear we go again) like Full House or something. It's just cheesy all the way and I keep listening to force myself to like it.

I agree with you about You Are that it could have been even heavier, but like you said, it doesn't forget that groove. Which is why I love that song.

Cool. I just think give this song time (time away if you have to) and try to approach it for what it is, rather than what you wanted it to be.

I wasn't thinking of that at all, and now you've ruined it. Thanks.

The song rips off Type O Negative's Electrocute more than Xtina. Trust.
