I watched from mid first quarter to OT of the fever/dream game

I will say this. running the set plays they are very good at executing. fundamentals are also good. the outside shooting was iffy.

focusing on the two main players of the game. It amazed me how much complaining each did. Reese is the danny ainge of the WNBA. has never committed a foul in her life. her inability to hit a layup (contested or not) is glaring. She is a force on the boards but if she hit 20% more of her layups/putbacks shed probably lose 4-6 rebs a game. I also find it funny that reese will play physical with smaller opponents and act like a bully but when it happens to her she doesnt say a word and cowhers.

CC has to realize there is a target on her at all times. whether it is refs calling/not calling fouls or the other team playing beyond physical play. the more you complain the less the refs are going to call. her coach does a terrible job of standing up for her (and her teammates IMO)

the league in general is poorly run (example saying you will go on the DP show and then ghost them) and whether people like it or not CC is the face of the league. not the best player in the league but the face. she puts butts in the seats and the league does everything (as does ESPN) to hold her back and not give the credit. for example. the atlanta dream average just under 7k fans a game. for yesterdays home game versus CC it was 17K. if you want to dispute that you're welcome to but you would be wrong

I certainly don't dispute her impact. She absolutely puts butts in seats. I disagree with the idea that the league holds her back and that the league she ESPN/media works to not give her credit. That's just patently wrong.

they want paid like NBA players (never going to happen in our lifetimes) so they should try to follow how the NBA approached running the league when Mike took over. I am not saying CC is mike (player wise) at all but their popularity and what they mean to the league is parallel. I know everyone hates it (as do i) but the NBA marketed Mike and others immensely.

i remember when cooper, staley, lobo and leslie were playing and it seemed they were on all the promos. When I see WNBA commercials on TV now they show a .25 second flip of CC and what seems (though i could be wrong) that they stay longer on others.

The commissioner agreeing to go on the Dan Patrick show then ghosting them to go golf. You're the commish of a league that wants so bad to be accepted by more than just your fan base and you just turn your back on free publicity? I would also start reigning in the extra curricular physical play with suspensions and fines so that the players get the message. (sophie included, though I do get why she does what she does)

until the commish and league gets serious about promoting their product they are going to be stuck spinning their wheels in the mud with no traction

Oh we are in full agreement that Cathy Englebert is bad for the league. She's a disastrous commissioner. I'll give her some credit for providing over the league's biggest expansion ever. But even that comes with an asterisk.

I'm unaware of the Dan Patrick incident, I'll have to look it up, but that example aside, Cathy should resign.

I had posted "He's not" in response to this post earlier, but I deleted it because I misread the post. I thought Spike said "I can't tell if he's *actually* trans or not." Which I assumed was a tongue in cheek joke. Thus, my reply.

Now that I realize what the post actually said, I am curious what else it could be? There's no other way to understand his behavior and comments.

i see people saying she should have kept her mouth shut and not start stuff but have seen people also say that fans are allowed to insult players and the players should shut up and play. well fans should shut up and fan

of course one could argue he wasnt there to help support the league/team/players. he just happened to be at a game with one of the best road attendance teams where surely he would get noticed
