With their induction into the R&R Hall of Fame, I've been listening to all of Nirvana's stuff today. And I gotta say... people who don't think Nirvana is at least worth of discussion and/or inclusion in the "greatest american rock band of all time" discussion can kiss my grits. Four unbelievable studio albums and an MTV Unplugged record in the span of less than five years? Yes. Yes, this is one of the greatest rock bands in the history of American music. Period.

yeah, I still think bleach and insecticide are pretty good, but I'm not going beyond that (for those records. Nevermind and In Utero are exceptional albums).

If this means I have to kiss your grits I am prepared to do so. I only ask that you wash them first.

Fine. I'll wash them for you. But only because I respect you so much.

And, in all honesty, I might like Incesitide more than Nevermind. Maybe. Probably. Maybe.

I'd add that About a Girl is probably my favorite Nirvana song, which elevates Bleach big time in my estimation. About a Girl > anything on Nevermind.

Sitp disagrees, but Bleach is a FANTASTIC record. About A Girl is a top tier Nirvana tune, absolutely.

About a girl is fantastic, and while I don't know that I agree, I don't know that i'd argue either.
But it's also one of only 2-3 songs on bleach that I think are of really high quality. Whereas Nevermind has like 10

Also, I would love to hear them cover yellow moon. I'm having trouble hearing lightning bolt, though

What are the other 1-2? One of those better be "Negative Creep".

it's not.
Blew is really good.
Big Cheese and Paper Cuts I don't care for.
The rest of the album is pretty good for what it is. But again, how people can talk about this record (or Insecticide, for that matter) being close to the same level as Nevermind or In Utero is beyond me.
