Bone Machine is such a great album. I listen to it at least once a week. At least.
Its one of my favorites from him. And the first record i heard when i was a kid and i didnt like his vocals at all...
Oh man, his vocals are amazing on that record. Earth Died Screaming is the only true evolutionary blues song I've ever heard. No other white guy has ever made the blues sound like that. Ever. And Black Wings.... what a panty dropper.
I know...i was very little. I liked Roxette and GNR at the time.
You liked Axl's voice but not Tom's? I... I don't.... I don't understand....
Well Axl´s voice was more...mm mainstream...but i know, it was a mistake.
We all make mistakes. Hell, I still love Alanis Morissette. I have no room to judge.
Her first album was amazing. But when i see her actual work, and by actual i mean every record she did after Jagged little pill, im happy i never went trough an Alanis phase.
I can understand that. But she's got some really great stuff post JLP. I think her second and third albums are definitely worth checking out. Everything after that is touch and go. But there's still a lot there that I appreciate.
Really? like what?? i remember watching only the covers and figuring out the " theme" of the album.

Sure, but why does that mean the music is bad?
I love almost everything on Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie and Under Rug Swept. So-Called Chaos is weak. But Flavors of Entanglement has some really rad stuff: Citizen of the Planet (one of her best post JLP songs, and one of her heaviest), Versions of Violence, Underneath, Not As We, Moratorium, as well as non-album cuts: 20/20, Orchid and Guy Who Leaves all have a lot to offer especially if you're willing to give them multiple spins.

I get the guy; it must be tiresome to be such a cool hipster.
You just cant relax right? Cmon enjoy a drink and tell us which Alanis song you like and cry to.

Really, though, guys. Take the Morissette someplace else (perhaps a thread that's a little more Canadian would suffice).
Just for quality's sake, you understand. Thanks.

When there's some actual goddamn Tom Waits news, I'll keep the thread on topic, how 'bout?

How about starting a joint Alanis Morisette/Roxette thread? Call it "Alanis Moroxette".

Also, does Bonnie and Clyde not count as actual goddamn Tom Waits news?
Robert Wilson wrote:I'm going to... It looks like I'm going to do Bonnie and Clyde.
Bonnie and Clyde as what? A play? A musical? An Opera?
It's a musical with Tom Waits.

Alice certainly gave us reason not to assume that a record will shortly follow. Hell, even Woyzeck debuted two years before Blood Money came out.
