+1000.

I'm guessing they are headlining Sasquatch or something and there's a holdup in announcing shows. That, or they just don't have a date yet.

Good guess. I'm holding out hope for a surprise gig at some place like Bunk Bar the week of the album release too.

God that would be incredible. I saw them at the High Dive in Champaign, IL in 2003. That place held like 400 people. They opened with "Call the Doctor". My brain exploded. I would love to have that happen again.

Quick attempt at a S-K top ten (chrono order) - will be interesting to see how many tracks from the new album make their way in after a few months digesting it.

Dig Me Out
One More Hour
Start Together
The End of You
One Beat
Faraway
The Remainder
What's Mine Is Yours
Jumpers
Entertain

I love how SK guitars interplay.

I still have to try their tuning, 1 tone and a half down: I love how it sounds for Corin.

"Light Rail Coyote" is my favorite S-K song.

Janets drumming on Youth Decay is just so intricate and intense

Ive tried doing a SK top 10 before, my top 3 is pretty quick and easy
Entertain, End of You, Dig Me Out

after that I always have a hard time picking songs as theyre just so many great songs.
Everything (best b-side/unreleased song ever) Jumpers, Whats Mine IS Yours, Funeral Song, Youre No Rock N Roll Fun, Light Rail Coyote, How To Play Dead, Joey Ramone, Burn Dont Freeze, Not What You Want, Stay Where You Are, Turn It On, so so so many great songs

This is a pretty rough top 10 to make; one of their best attributes is their consistency.

Not in order...

Dig Me Out
Jenny
Start Together
The Hot Rock
Youth Decay
One Beat
Sympathy
The Fox
Entertain
Night Light

I could easily see Price Tag and No Cities to Love from the new record squeezing into that list. Looking at that list, I also see how great they were at choosing openers and closers to their records. Only 3 of my choices come in the middle of their albums.

Jumpers
Far Away
Surface Envy
Price Tag
Entertain
Rollercoaster
Everything

I think all their stuff is great (they have one of the most consistent discographies ever), but TW is completely next-level to me. Far beyond their other output. It's like comparing In the Aeroplane Over the Sea to On Avery Island - the latter is a strong record, but pales in comparison.

The Woods got me into SK, but nowadays I'd definitely put One Beat ahead of it, probably All Hands on the Bad One, and maybe Dig Me Out.
