wow, those guys in DC dont have a clue about what they are doing.

Overall the new 52 hasn't worked out too well.

The main idea wasnt good. Reboot the whole universe? seems like most of the great storys they did in the past dont matter now and thats just lame... i understand the need to reboot superman again and some others..but the whole universe?

Batman and Green Lantern retained a lot of their mythos(they also happen to be the best series in the new universe) but the timeline has been reduced and some characters back story are different. Most of their extended family titles are pretty good. Superman and his related titles are all complete shit. As is Teen Titans. Justice League was horrible...getting a little better(Green Arrow sucked but has gotten real good). They are setting up a big crossover in the Justice League titles so we'll see how that goes. I like what they did with Aquaman and Shazam(aka Captain Marvel). I understand the Wonder Woman's comic is well regarded though her characterization in that book differs from how she is in the rest of the DCU. Martian Manhunter is a lot darker now which is kinda cool. Seems like they are setting him up to be as powerful as Superman. The Flash comic looks great but is rather dull. All Star Westerns is awesome if you like Westerns. A bunch of titles have been cancelled and I miss none of them except Demon Knights and that's just cause I love Etrigan. I can't really think of anything that is really better now or any continuity issues that the reboot resolved. It made a lot of things worse( i.e. how can their be so many Robins in 5 years?). They should have either really started over and erased everything or kept things the way they were. Marvel Now got it right.

why mess with Batman? the whole robins thing took a long time to build and now everyone is there but between a 5 years gap?? stupid!

My understanding was always he was almost as strong as Superman but in the New 52 maybe it isn't almost maybe he is.

Bada, do you follow The Avengers? It sounds like there has been cool shit going on in that comic, but I haven't followed. I'm curious what specific series to read to try and catch up and how far back to start. There are so many Avengers comics now.

Also my pick of the week this was has to be Thanos Rising. A lot of people really dislike this series, and I can totally understand that, but Thanos was always a favorite of mine since I was a kid. I enjoy seeing him and reading anything about him even if I kind of wish they left his origin untold.

East of West #3 was pretty awesome too.

Bada, do you follow The Avengers? It sounds like there has been cool shit going on in that comic, but I haven't followed. I'm curious what specific series to read to try and catch up and how far back to start. There are so many Avengers comics now.

Yep I'm reading Avengers, New Avengers and Uncanny Avengers. I would say New Avengers is easily my favorite, Uncanny is pretty good but has some ties with the X-Men so expect crossovers and the main Avengers title is difficult to follow. The main is tough because its a little slow and confusing plus I personally have a hard time telling some characters apart or following who they even are. I'd give the Mighty a try for sure even if I don't know some of the characters. Still need to read East Of West #3 and Thanos.
