Do Ipods still have there built in Sound EQ settings? That could do the trick for some people. I know the Iphones dont have that
Yeah, but I was talking more like the "loudness" button on your walkman.

I'm currently reading Stephen Witt's How Music Got Free - The End of an Industry, The Turn of the Century, and the Patient Zero of Piracy". The book is excellently written and I'm almost done after only 2 days. Ridiculously highly recommended.

He gives some amazing background information on how mp3s came to be and has researched exhaustively and sourced interviews with so many people who were so involved yet you just wouldn't know about them otherwise.

Anyways, the back cover has the question: "What Happens When an Entire Generation Commits the Same Crime?" and it really has got me thinking about things. I'm part of that generation and I've committed that crime. But music today seems overall healthier and in better shape than its ever been, regardless of the downloading and piracy. Or is it perhaps because of it? Weird.

Talk to musicians trying to make it a career and not a hobby and they may disagree with you.

Oh I'm certainly talking from a consumers perspective here.

I would put forward the argument though that a young band starting out today has a far larger chance of at least having some possiblity of actually getting heard by some sort of audience.

Before hand no record company would mean no possibility of putting music out there.

I'd argue that technology has done more to help artists and consumers than it's hindered them.

I agree with this. Bands can also target their messaging to their fans more accurately than ever before.

My PC has been a bitch lately. I have lost a bunch of music. Nothing I am heartbroken over. Trying to figure out what is wrong. I obviously need a safer way to consume tunes.

Talk to musicians 20 years ago, before the internet.

I'm not sure most musicians deserve to be able to quit their job at McDonald's.

I hate McDonald's food but their coffee and smoothies are pretty good.

Wal-mart jokes are much better.

I love rdio.com's interface so much more than Spotify, but (i use both of them as a free user) Rdio has so many more f'ing commercials.
