I mean the wash of high guitar gain that makes the chords hard to distinguish. I have been checking the internet for updates on the album for the past 2 years. It will take several listens over time for me form an opinion. I had a run through the albums there and Self Titled is still showing me new details.

I have been stuck into the Machina remaster anyway. My attention is split!

the only track I'm meh on / I can take or leave is "Metal Dreams"; the rest of the album is high tier Deftones

"Infinite Source" and "Milk of the Madonna" are my favourite songs

Milk is by far the best. Second favorites would be Ecdysis, Cut Hands, and Metal Dream

I don't understand why Self-titled is so underrated

Yeah I don’t get that either, it’s just as good as their other albums from that era

I like this new album a lot. Great energy, you can actually hear the bass !!

infinite source sounds like a mix between Deftones and Smashing Pumpkins

So is Sergio Vega going to go down as Jason Newsted while Fred Sablan is Robert Trujillo?

Trying Ohms again. Yeah, still a no from me. This is so dull and uninspired. "Error" is pretty good but that's about it for me here
Ms Harmless wrote:I enjoy Ohms musically but it doesn't help that the first lyrics are middle-aged centrism 101: "I reject both sides of what I've been told... I've finally achieved balance!"

the record has a hard time regaining my attention after that
Agree with this, these are embarrassing lyrics, and made much more egregious by being the first words you hear

But Ohms is still above Gore, correct?

Nah, Gore has "Prayers / Triangles" so it gets the edge
