I don't think we know enough to say anything in a very concrete manner right now other than this situation sucks and that it's not entirely clear where the blame really lies.
I have no aspiration for management. I would simply process the paperwork after a decision is made.Peeps wrote:lenny, if this happened at your company as king HR, how would you handle it?
Just think if Tebow was somehow involved....4/5 wrote:So now Martin's agent says it's multiple guys not just Incognito.
I'm pretty sure this whole debacle is ESPN's wet dream.

This post did not go unnoticed.Fuck You Jobu wrote:Son, we live in a world that has "Voluntary workouts", and those workouts must be attended by everyone. Who's gonna skip them? You? You, Lieutenant Weinberg? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Martin, and you curse the Dolphins. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know -- that Martin quitting, while tragic, probably saved toughness in football; and my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves toughness in football. You don't want the truth because deep down in places you don't talk about at tail-gating parties, you want me in those workouts -- you need me in those workouts.verb_to_trust wrote:Coach Philbin, did you order the code red!?:
We use words like "go for the knees," "clothesline," "crackback." We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a fifteen yard penalty. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who drinks beer while cheering the big hits in games and then questions the manner in which I provide them.
I would rather that you just cringed said "Ohhhhh" and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you attend a voluntary workout and lift some weights. Either way, I don't give a DAMN what you think you're entitled to!
David Cornwell, Jonathan Martin's lawyer wrote:Jonathan Martin’s toughness is not at issue. Jonathan has started every game with the Miami Dolphins since he was drafted in 2012. At Stanford, he was the anchor for Jim Harbaugh’s “smash mouth” brand of football and he protected Andrew Luck’s blind side.
The issue is Jonathan’s treatment by his teammates. Jonathan endured harassment that went far beyond the traditional locker room hazing. For the entire season-and-a-half that he was with the Dolphins, he attempted to befriend the same teammates who subjected him to the abuse with the hope that doing so would end the harassment. This is a textbook reaction of victims of bullying. Despite these efforts, the taunting continued. Beyond the well-publicized voice mail with its racial epithet, Jonathan endured a malicious physical attack on him by a teammate, and daily vulgar comments such as the quote at the bottom. These facts are not in dispute.
Eventually, Jonathan made a difficult choice. Despite his love for football, Jonathan left the Dolphins. Jonathan looks forward to getting back to playing football. In the meantime, he will cooperate fully with the NFL investigation.
Quote from teammate: “We are going to run train on your sister. . . . She loves me. I am going to fuck her without a condom and cum in her cunt.”
I'm not sure how I feel now. If this is an actual quote, and I'm Martin, I'm personally going to try as hard as I can to break that fuckers neck...slowly. Did he react with a cheap shot in practice? The more I hear the more I think Martin should've stood up for himself.“We are going to run train on your sister. . . . She loves me. I am going to fuck her without a condom and cum in her cunt.”
as with most "scandals". and of course getting bits and pieces as the come out instead of the whole story at once kinda causes people to flip flop from one side to the other, very aggravatingElectromatic wrote:The coverage and commentary is worse than the actual event.

So many people have been saying this, and in particular it should have been Martin that kicked the shit out of him. As satisfying as it would be, it really doesn't solve the underlying problem--which is that Incognito (and perhaps others?) needs to obtain some fucking human decency.Dr. Van Nostrand wrote:Yep, dude needs to get the shit kicked out of himE.H.
