Not impressed. But Tom Brady's little brother behind him loved it.

That wasn't too bad. Ed was a little flat in spots but he certainly wasn't out of key like some people are saying. I expected much worse.

So awkward. He is not an interesting performer to watch and the single camera shot the entire time was....awkward. Him wandering off like a senile old man.

Non-fans who know me as a huge PJ guy are telling me that was an amazing performance. Whatever that means. I thought it was just ok. Ed was lacking some power but so was the band.... They did NOT sound like pearl jam that's for sure.

The broken string didn't help but maybe added some cool RnR factor.

TV performances are always weird sounding. They amp up the volume of the vocals in the mix so high, and they kill the instruments to where it's just a muddled mess. You can barely hear guitars. SNL is notorious for this too

Him coquettishly grinning and shrugging like "thank you, thank you, yall way too kind, who am I to even be here".
I dunno it kind of bothered me

The awkwardness after the performance, not during.

I thought it was an okay performance. The band carried the tune because it seemed like Eddie wasn't going to be able to. He was definitely off the beat at times and those notorious extra syllables were off-putting. Overall his vocal performance scored as serviceable. His guitar sounded bad, though how much of that can be attributed to tone, the broken string, or the live TV mixing, I can't say. Then again, I didn't really care for the sound of the lead guitar, either, even though it was better mixed than Ed's guitar. The tone was too bright for the rest of the song. Paul's playing of the main melody on keys was the best part of the performance.

I have had three people ask me if I saw it because it was awesome. They are casual fans, and they know I'm more than casual.

We are jaded around here.

I found it to be borderline good, certainly not bad

People do the same thing every time Bruce Springsteen appears on TV.

If you're a recognizable artist who people don't have any real personal investment in and don't regularly look in on, you basically have to duce directly on the stage in order to get anything other than a wave (you're welcome) of exaggerated praise from people who were not nearly impressed enough to actually buy your new album.
