You know what's a good Cure song I never listen to? "The Promise", from 2004. Apart from Robert's hilarious scream at the start, it's a very satisfying listen.

very nice.

I don't know how Bloodflowers gets such a bad rap here. It's just brilliant! It doesn't come off as superficial (to me)...

The wife included this track on her RM - inspired Best of the 2000's mixtape. What a gorgeous song.

I love the scream!

That whole record is pretty good, definitely the best post-90s Cure release. Great b-sides too, as ever.

Seventeen Seconds is shear fucking bliss. To me, it's clearly their best early/pre-Top album. It destroys Pornography.

As it's a live album, I always forget to mention Paris when I list my favourite Cure albums but it's definitely one of my favourite things they've ever done (and played a large part in cementing my die-hard Cure fandom back in the day).

Same here... Got Paris and Show, bundled together, and that's all it took for me.

Was there a Paris video? I remember having Show on VHS, but don't think I had Paris.

About 10 years ago, the fucking awesome Paris versions of "At Night" and "In Your House" are what opened my eyes to the earlier Cure material. At that time, I was more about the stuff from '87 onwards.

They sound so good, I really hope they swing through here again soon (and keep these songs in the set, two all-time favourites of mine):
