These were some of my favorite songs released this year based on play counts. The albums they come from probably correspond with many of my favorites. Its not a top ten list but fuck it.

Really digging the Leon Bridges album.
From a Portland-centric view of the world, I'd highly recommend the 2015 albums by The Helio Sequence & Wild Ones. Very good stuff all around.

Never heard Bridges until SNL, but really liked both songs he played; he seems like a classy crooner sort of guy...

Yup, and I think they might be doing their best songwriting work these days. Seeing them on NYE here in Portland.

I want to give bigtime credit to Elder's Lore. I also am adoring the Jim O'Rourke album. I keep coming back to Godspeed's "Asunder, Sweet And Other Distress" though. However I know I'm forgetting a few...

Is this quiet, badass piece of work. Its something you listen while you drink your whiskey, thinking about that special one that got away, while the young piece awaits for you in bed.
Or maybe, its just a cool album. Not sure.

Slow, spacious and heavy
3. Dick Diver Melbourne, Florida (Trouble in Mind)
Should be #1, if I gave a shit about ranking
4. Protomartyr Agent Intellect (Hardley Art)
They're a real band now, and still rule.

Best live show I saw this year, killer album.

Always unreal live, but I never got the records. Until this one.
