It's been pretty quiet here in the lead up to draft weekend. I'm certainly partly responsible, I've had other things to focus on, and I'll actually miss all of the 2nd & 3rd rounds on Friday.

Who do people want for their teams? I'm hoping the Broncos take either Paxton Lynch or a stud DE to replace Malik Jackson using #31. But I also don't think Lynch will last until #31.

I don't care about tonight. I hope everyone in the first round is bust.

Speaking on behalf of the Kansas City Chiefs, I'll gladly trade you our #1 pick for your 3's.

Still baffled that Goff and Wentz are going to be drafted this high. They look like 2nd or 3rd round talents at best. It's just, I don't know - desperation I guess.

Most important position in the game. Go big or go home, I guess. But, yeah, seems crazy. I'm hoping one of these isn't a QB, though. Just shock the hell out of everyone. :bammer:

Hahaha for sure and I get that but man you reach too much and the biggest position on your team becomes your biggest problem - plus all the draft picks that have been given up for these two guys? So crazy. I don't remember seeing something like this before. I'm relieved I'm not a Rams or Eagles fan.

I want the Dolphins to use the 13th pick on a corner...if we can move back a spot or two and still get a good CB and get an extra pick, I'd take that too. Just hoping Hargreaves lasts until they pick. And praying they don't get stupid and trade up in order to draft a running back.

That's the scuttlebutt.

I know, and it perfectly illustrates why they've become a goddamn joke of a team

What these teams gave up to move up is absurd. Especially if these guys bust or flame out. But the way these rookie contracts are structured now, it makes a lot more sense than it used to, especially for a QB.

Good point. That is true about the contracts. We're not talking about that soul crushing Sam Bradford rookie contract anymore. That's the only thing that makes sense but it also means giving up draft picks to move up is far more costly than it was in the past.

Absolutely. And, this year in particular, I'd rather have the picks for sure. The Chiefs are down a 3rd rounder and that fucking stings. The Dorsey years have been a 3rd round goldmine. He seems to find exceptional talent/value in the 3rd.

And back to the main point, I'm not sure any of these QB's are worth it. None of these guys are Andrew Luck. But yeah, I'm not an NFL owner/GM. What do I know?

It'll be interesting to see what happens over the next few years as we see the actual value of these trades play out.

 He's #1 on my board, even though I'd still take Lynch if he was available.

Other scuttlebutt suggests that the Cowboys might save the Dolphins from trading up for Elliott. But they need to take Joey Bosa after they've had their pass rushers liquidated by suspensions.

I like to see where the Clemson fellas land, so I'll watch for that. The rest is ok, the hype / hoopla / commercials get old, but it's kinda fun to see what trading shenanigans happen, and seeing what teams do well, and what teams do not. Then, in like 5 years, compare that draft with how they ended up doing. The NFL did that a few weeks back, and my man Nuk Hopkins (DeAndre Hopkins) ended up being the #1 "redo pick".

Years ago I would buy a half dozen draft guides and read as many mocks as I could find. I have not read even a single article or mock. I may watch some of the draft, but only because the Tigers played a day game.
