I live in Boston, but haven't been to any Fenway concerts. I will probably go to one of the PJ ones just to try it out. I don't think the sound will be good, but I don't think the sound at the TD Garden is good either. And for me, it will be easier getting to and from Fenway than it would be for Great Woods (Mansfield).

There will be demand for the tickets, but I think 2 shows instead of one will alleviate that factor big time. If someone knows what they are doing even a little bit, and is willing to be patient and put in a tiny amount of effort, they should not have a problem getting tickets at face or less.

the garden (and similar sports venues) are clearly not ideal for concerts in terms of sound, but they're much better than the acoustic abominations that are baseball parks

ideally bands should play real music venues, but you're not going to have the capacity you're looking for there

I think they played that space (then known as "Avalon") a looong time ago.

The 5,000-capacity Something Bank Pavilion on the water would be a good place for a multi-night run, and is one of the few venues of notable size in Eastern Massachusetts that they haven't played.

While I agree there is some truth to the gimmick element of historic baseball stadiums, I can't rail against it too hard. Inevitably, those types of venues are better for visiting fans just in regards of.. other things to do around. If you're at a suburban ampitheatre, there usually arent dozens of walkable bars, hotels, etc. Which makes Chris's Sunday point all the more baffling.

Got Greenville tickets - reserved. Last time I saw PJ was in 2008 at Bonnaroo. I'll be driving in from Nashville and couldn't be more excited. Was on this board years ago under a different name - kak23, then it was changed again when the board changed but I can't remember that username, so I changed it.

Really looking forward to this show - Bummed that they are skipping Nashville. I'd go to Bonnaroo but my wife is pregnant with our first child and it's due around Bonnaroo weekend. I'll be the guy at Greenville in reserved seating with my pregnant wife.
