As a straight white dude, I can only say that my concern over this is for the progressives and LGBT folks in North Carolina who have been betrayed both by their legislature AND one-after-another of their favorite musical groups.

Seriously, they better hold out hope that the boycotts have the desired effect, and soon... otherwise that segment of the population in NC has been spurned from inside their state and out.

Eh, no.

It is a trendy cause in that's the kind of thing that serves as a loud moral signpost for a lot of people on both sides of the issue who aren't affected by it directly.

Not for a moment do I think it's a trivial issue for anyone who wishes to marry their same sex partner, that's why I said I would expect that someone in that position would consider prioritising it higher than they would other issues when it comes to casting their vote.
