I think's it's an understanding that the bands who work with him already know he's an asshole. They just want his name brand on their product and he doesn't take points, so he's cheap if you believe in your product.

not to knock him, because i do like some of the albums he's engineered/produced--Cloud Nothings Attack On Memory for example--but isn't his whole thing based on him just sitting there, and not touching any levers, knobs, buttons on the board when a band is in his studio?

what i'm saying is, does he actually produce something if he's just sitting there?

So now I can buy the Seinfeld Lego set for example, and instead of distinct characters (like a balding George and an Elaine with long curly hair) I get four completey nondescript Lego characters in white t-shirts and blue jeans?
