Recorded Springsteen has some amazing stuff that I choose to listen too less and less as time goes on. These days I almost never seek him out. But no way am I not going to go see him and the E Street Band play live if I get the chance. Always excellent.

I mean, thats fine, truly, but shit - listen to that no nukes concert! that is some of the least boring rock n roll music ever played. Damn near punk rock the way they were playing that night.

I never gave a shit about Springsteen until about 15 years ago. I remembered his hits okay, but in my mind it was a lifetime of associating him with Born in the USA and Dancing in the Dark. So I saw him as more of an 80s pop rock guy. But people kept saying they were phenomenal live, so I checked out the Hammersmith Odeon concert, which is right after the release of Born to Run - so the first three albums only are represented. My jaw hit the floor on what I heard. Quite literally the best live music I had ever heard to that point. Went back and visited those first three albums religiously for a while and slowly made my way up to the present. When they toured, I went to Nassau Coliseum to see them on the Working on a Dream tour and watched the show from the 8th row or so of fans. Converted for life. Granted, there are still albums from Springsteen I don’t care for (basically all of the 90s), but he covers a much larger sonic range than you think, and once it clicks, that’s it. Seen him 5 times now and can’t wait for him to get back out there.

I'm lukewarm on Springsteen but "Streets of Philadelphia" would be my go-to if I had to pick one, it's gorgeous

I would say listen to the version of Jungleland on the No Nukes concert. Can’t say I’ve ever heard anyone blow their entire soul through a horn than Clarence Clemons in that 4 minute section. I get choked up even hearing it. On the level with Jerry’s Morning Dew at MSG in 1987.

Re: Unpopular Music Opinions
It would appear that not liking Springsteen is not an unpopular opinion on RM.
There was a time when Springsteen was a top 10 artist for me, but like Higgs I've found myself listening to him less and less over the years. I'd still pretty comfortably put him in the top 30, and I still consider him a major artist in my life, but he's been knocked out of that uppermost echelon.
I've got maybe 6-8 of the shows that he's released through Nugs (all from 1978-80 or 2005), and those are usually what I reach for when I'm in a Springsteen mood. I'm sure it'll all come back around someday.
