Yes
This was the song my wife and I had our first dance to at our wedding 23 years ago.

But the answer is Silvergun Superman.

Ello Sailor wrote:That was actually quite hard to listen to towards the end. The DeLeo bros are clearly just thankful that they get to play music for a living and Billy is all "bUt DoN't YoU fEeL liKe It'S sOmE kInD oF rEbElLiOn!?"

He's insufferable. This made me respect STP even more, because they're very realistic and chill dudes. And they've been through a lot. Also, I laughed at Dean getting to play with a bunch of legacy artists like Gibbons while Billy says no one asks him to come and jam. I wonder why.
The best guests he's had so far, but easily the most insufferable conduct from Billy so far, so they barely got to speak if you consider how long the episode was.

In every episode I've watched, there is an unfolding pattern of him setting up a disingenuous line of discussion via false self-deprecation, which leads to the guest slathering him with compliments. They all take the bait, even Gene Simmons but to a lesser extent, probably because it's a bit like preaching to the choir. And as you pointed out, he will also try to goad them into complaining about something that is really a bee in his own bonnet (the Hall Of Fame, being marginalized, etc...) so he can circle back around to himself, but usually he will be met with a baffled or indifferent response which only frustrates him more, and then he won't shut the fuck up about it.

He's out of control with that in this one, but he also won't stop interrupting and talking about himself. The comments on YouTube are accurate for once - it really is like they are interviewing him. He does the lions share of the pontificating. There is also an unusual amount of passive-aggressive commentary about D'arcy and STP having nicked a melody from a song on "Gish", a practice that Billy has had no shame doing himself regardless.

And furthermore, needing to spend 8 months recording an album that any competent musicians would spend two weeks to a month on is not something worth bragging about. Anyone who understands the artistry and skill behind writing and producing music with genuine feeling can grasp this basic concept. Most musicians known for doing that are notorious narcissistic assholes who are never satisfied with anything. They are not known for self-awareness either, but he might want to try downplaying that kind of thing anyway.

But I will say this...this episode does contain my favorite oblivious Billy comment so far:
"I have no talented friends."

Indeed. Not only are his claims of copying almost always a massive stretch, but he also admitted to directly lifting the melody from a Cheap Trick tune for the "Cherub Rock" chorus, to name but one example.

Narcissists never hold themselves to the same standards they do others. Absolute fuckwits, the lot of 'em.

Anyway, he still wrote my fav. music of all time. He tests my art vs. artist separation abilities all too often, though.

I just finished the Corgan interview and while i enjoyed it a lot, yeah Billy is all over the place talking about him him and the industry, the crowds, what the people want, and these guys are super chill like ¨we are very happy¨ and its just hilarious.

There are still pretty good moments regarding Scott and the recording of Tiny Music too. Billy is a fan and it shows and he is also good when he focus on the artist.

Ive decided im going to see this guys next month, so im very happy with it.

Do you like Perdida? They won’t play any of it. It’s my favorite record by anyone in the last 10 years. I listen to it multiple times most weeks.

yeah, and i came back to it recently to it and pay more attention. Yeah, i know they dont play songs from it and they also ditched the two or three they did from the self titled with Jeff.

At this point they dont seem rushed to make more new music with him and just tour, but they seem to be gaining a lot of new fans because i think they already played two times with Jeff and this time is in a bigger venue.

Hopefully they will make more music at some point.

So apparently Gutt was at the Jazz Fest show just now and commented on Mrs Wease’s Facebook stuff that he can’t wait for the Nashville shows. We’re trying to figure out how to meet up with him.

I just recently got Core because it was cheap. Its an argentinian edition and sounds very low but its ok. But i do want Purple and Tiny now. Been thinking of getting N4 and Shangri since they are available here.

I got all on cd though.
