Honestly, that pic from EW with Ewan alone in that cave that's all washed in blue light feels like a scene where he could be talking to Qui-Gon. May not be, but it has that feeling, I think.
Its one of the biggest through lines that need to be connected here. "Teach you this i will..." as obi wan parts ways with Yoda. Then onto Obi wan deciding he will be more powerful as a dead jedi than alive and becoming a force ghost .....

Yeah, that whole conversation is convoluted at the end of Sith. Yoda tells Obi-Wan he'll teach him how to commune with Qui-Gon. But then that Qui-Gon will teach Ob-Wan how to be immortal (essentially).
Ten years in to his exile, I'm sure Yoda has already taught Obi-Wan how to talk to Qui-Gon. That would be weird if he hadn't. And I'm guessing we aren't going to see much if any of that training/process.
But the Qui-Gon stuff? Has to be there. There's no way that training is complete. We've still got a long way to go and a lot of character development between the Obi-Wan we last see in Sith and the zen master we see in Rebels, let alone ANH.

Agreed. And agreed with VG's point that they kind of already did reboot it with the TFA. Much like the prequels are a different generations star wars, the same revitalization will happen for the new trilogy will be that generations Star Wars.
They can just redo new trilogies with new characters with the same beats in the same galaxy. No reason to remake the OT.

And considering this is a little bit closer to when Anakin turned into Vader.....it would be more interesting to me if Vaders voice wasn't exactly like Rogue One/A New Hope......a tad Anakin a tad Vader....
