It's a good record, but c'mon man. He wrote most of Vitalogy and No Code.

I’m sure I like it better than No Code. I’m about 90% sure on Vitalogy now too.

It's just too soon for me to make any sort of statement like that, but I'm happy to hear you enjoy it so much.

I love love love this album, but nothing could touch the first 5 albums for me, especially albums 3-5.

Superman by Goldfinger would be the best song on Gigaton

I haven't felt like listening to the album in a week or so.

I'm sure I'll revisit it at some point.

I am pretty confident that even if it ages poorly it will rank ahead of no code, riot act, and binaural. all those albums have songs I feel like I need to make excuses for. There is none of that here

I probably haven’t listened in a week or so, mostly because I was starting to burn out a little, and because I remain on a Tom Petty kick. But as a reflect without constantly listening, it’s still really great.

Truth. Those albums are underrated by the mainstream but overrated by the hardcore fanbase. The second half of No code is a mess, and parts of Binaural are good faith efforts and worthwhile but belong nowhere near the essential PJ canon. I think the band themselves would be the first to admit that. Gigaton is somewhere in Yield territory in terms of being universal but idiosyncratic at the same time.

I still can’t believe we’re having this conversation. Pearl Jam lives! Fuck yes the band of my youth is still my band!

Meh, Binaural is still their best album by far to me in terms of song quality consistency. I started listening to Pearl Jam in the mid-2000s and I just don't find the early stuff (Ten/Vs) or their S/T to LB material appealing. This album is pretty decent but isn't getting anywhere near their Vitalogy-Binaural era material for me but it is a step in the right direction after the last few efforts.
