I think dismissing the DNC - who admitted to rigging the primaries against Sanders in 2016 - trying to again undermine the candidate who will likely be the democratic favorite with "the DNC wanting to have some influence in making sure an actual Democrat is nominated to represent the Democrats" is bootlicking insanity. I would describe it as a literal attempt to stop the democratic process from functioning and prevent the people from having a voice in who leads them. Like, a legitimate, concrete threat to democracy in every way imaginable. It's the ruling class working desperately to protect the status quo that benefits them and crushes everyone else. So, yeah, I think this is a way bigger deal then, again, that dead-end farce of a trial for a guy who could be leaving office after this year anyway.

I had a much more cogent thought first thing this morning I've definitely come around to this. Is it an overstatement to say that this impeachment is the greatest loss for the Democrats that could happen in an election year? and here they are trying to outdo that by shooting themselves in the foot?

I understand that the impeachment is fucking bonkers and that was full of shit but for them to continue to fight each other instead of coming together on someone who can definitely build on the momentum from 2018 instead of some old fuck is short-sighted.
