I wonder if we're going to get Marwyn the Mage? I had heard that Jim Broadbent would be playing him, but IMDB lists his character as Archmaester Ebrose, and he seems to be philosophically the opposite of Marwyn.

A couple:
- Spoiler: show
- The Young Griff:
Jon Connington, a close friend to Rheagor and one of his super loyal knights, lived in exile with the golden company after Robert's Rebellion. Suddenly he appears with a kid who he claims is Prince Aegon. It's possible the kid is a Blackfyre or just a rando that Connington adopted. It's a wild storyline. Parts of it have been added to other threads in the show and it makes sense why the show didn't try to adopt it. No telling how Martin will wrap it up
Lord Manderly is playing the Frey's in the north in the hopes of putting a Stark back in Winterfell and is working the back channels with Davos to find a way to pull it off. Some of Manderly's thread has been combined with Arya's in the show.
There's a ton more going on with Dorne in the books with Darkstar from house dayne causing chaos

Part of thinks Aegon is just fodder for the Lannisters in a buildup to a battle with Dany.

It's gonna make things complicated for the Dornish.

Sometimes it's not the threads that have been left out, but the ones that have been altered beyond recognition (not a value judgement, as they're just adaptation choices). The two that come right to mind are the fact that Asha is with Stannis and that Davos is on his way to fucking Skagos to try and find Rickon (I'm not even sure Skagos has been mentioned on the show). I can't wait to see how those play out.

Seriously, those Davos chapters from his time getting to White Harbor, through the reveal in the Wolf's Den are some of the best in the series.

Having just read one of these chapters I completely agree.

Really? I don't recall being struck by those. I like what they did with Davos in the show.

They are understated, but building to a pretty big conclusion. Doran Martell and and Lord Manderly are two of my favorite characters.

They cut out the most important Greyjoy from the tv series. One with many pov chapters in the books.

Those were pretty much my thoughts as well. Those chapters didn't really stand out to me, but looks back, Davos's search for Rickon and Manderly's revenge against the Boltons and Freys are probably the two things I'm most excited to see play out in the next books.

I like Davos on the show a lot more than in the books. And I like him in the books.
