i can maybe see taking that much off if he was wearing shoes and jeans or somehitng, if i weigh with shirt, shorts and boxers on then take them off and weigh again its usually like a pound
Well, "scale weight" is deceiving. It's your % body fat that makes a difference in how you look.

agreed.
the thing you have to do is be consistent when weighing yourself. your weight generally fluctuates 3-5lbs on a daily basis. if you weight your self in the morning continue to do so at that same general time. if you wear certain types of clothes do so all the time.
for me its saturday mornings at 8am. shorts, tshirt, socks, no shoes

If you aren't farting non-stop after getting back into yoga practice, you aren't doing it right.

i also had in mind how my wife brought it up awhile back. about how all the women she works with alway say this. it's like a lie they tell themselves to feel a bit better about being where they are.
i started weighing myself at home everyday, in the morning like you said. clothes on and then clothes off. i normally have jeans and a hoodie on. all of that is 2.5 lbs. throw in shoes if you want, at 1 lb at the most, and there you go.
i don't know why i'm so fired up about this. i guess if you're fat, just admit it and stop bringing the poor clothes into the equation.

I hate the scales, and the obesession it creates for people trying to lose weight. Anyone trying to lose weight should throw their scales out and see the results in the mirror, and their clothes that start to get loose.
I formed this opinion after watching my wife go through the same yoyo effect over so many years. She would derail in her weight loss whenever her weight stayed the same, or increased since her last weigh in; even if she had already lost a few kg prior to that.
In the end, I was as frustrated as her when I saw her making the same mistakes over and over. But, things have changed since I threw out our scales and talked her into not going any of the stupid crash diets, calorie counting, etc. I helped her to learn good long term eating habits and regulalr fitness. She not only got to a healthy weight (that's not determined by a number), but she's learnt how to maintain it through the same normal habits.
The whole 'weight loss' industry is bullshit, and completely contradictory to what its meant to acheive. Weight Watchers, shake diets, Kenny Craig/food programs don't educate people on good normal healthy lifestyles, and in the end people end up putting the weight back on. Those programs are all designed to fail in the end, so people end up coming back. It's a money-making industry, that's all.
GASP. Rant done.

i'm a numbers guy. but i get what you're saying. i have been weighing myself everyday for about 2 months now. however, the most satisfaction has come from having to constantly pull up all my pants. i'm purposely not wearing a belt.

This week I started Shaun T's T25 program. After three workouts my gluts and thighs feel like they're being ripped by steak knives every time I get up from my chair and my pecs sting from yesterday's many push-ups. Tonight is abs night.
I'll keep y'all updated.

I don't pay attention to it. but did just notice that once you hit 5000 posts here, your profile no longer shows which thread you're most active in, and I'm a little put off about it.

The 200 lbs. me is dead. I dismembered him, stuffed his parts into an empty oil drum and buried him under a pumpjack in a desolate West Texas field.
