My roots are in Ireland I guess I'm out of luck.

Can we do some kind of bracket here for it? Can money be involved? I’ll be watching anyway. Let’s have some added incentive. Also, go England!

England's on my short list to root for...I figure I know most of the players.

Germany and Belgium are my favorites.

After reading the FTW and ESPN articles about US players complaining and blaming foreign born players being the reason they are missing the World Cup I remain even more convinced that no one in US soccer understands just how far behind they are and how epically they have failed to produce talent. Virtually nothing is right in US soccer. It is an insular group. The talent isn’t good enough even when the effort doesn’t suck. The effort isn’t their either but the last group they tried to qualify with, can’t play at all.

Maybe 3 non goalies in 20 years capable of playing in the better leagues in the world. That’s it.

Young guys coming up might have a chance. Everyone associated with the last cycle needs to never wear the shirt again with the exception of Yedlin and maybe Brooks.

Indeed. Perhaps moreso because they won’t be able to take CONCACAF for granted next time.

I like McKinnie Pulisic Tyler Adams and a few of the CBs. Tim Weah is intriguing.

Sport is meant to be above all that but football is tribalism in its basic form. The violence around it across Europe is really something.

I guess I took dimes original post as praise for Ireland for the pride jerseys and that they had to convince USMNT to wear them when USMNT wore them last June and Bradley (who sucks) wore a pride captains armband after the Pulse shooting. US soccer lacks a lot of things but their fanbase and federation are pretty inclusive.

I just realize the World Cup is coming. Im so fucking happy.

I'm actually glad the US isn't in this WC. Don't have to pretend to root for a trash team, because "roots"

I think I'll be pulling for Belgium & Argentina in this tourney, though lots of other intriguing teams.
