best of you is another terrible chorus. The only two Foo Fighter's songs I really like off hand are DOA and Everlong. And a few songs from their first album, I guess.

The three snare/guitar stabs here (around 3:11) are what I was talking about when I said that Foo Fighters sound like they cut short their stops / pauses in the studio. It's not a big deal, I hear it all the time. It just makes them cleaner.

When it came out I was blown away by the way the song was constructed. I loved how the vocals were extreme from the get go, but the music built up around it from next to nothing to a pretty nice crescendo. I spent weeks sitting in my room trying to find a song of mine I could apply a similar trick to.

Dave Grohl is a horrible songwriter. All of his songs are typical MOR dad-rock bullshit. Even when he tries to "rock out", he sounds like a pussy.

I'm pretty sure I own the first five or six albums. I don't remember enjoying any of them beyond the singles though.
