The thing is, if you're doing that it's because you think it's necessary to do that. Vocals are cut separately, so maybe it was faster for Ed to get one great take of any recurring line and let them copy-paste it in where it was needed. Or maybe they thought precision was the pathway to mass acceptance. Either way, it doesn't hurt your enjoyment of the song, but it does take some shine off the band. Simple fact is, you shouldn't have to cheat to get a good take.

Anyway, who wants precision and exactness? Give me imperfection every time.

With music like PJ's and vocalists like Vedder over polishing doesn't even fit stylistically IMO.
I know vocals were edited even in the analog days. The Doors did it since their 1st album. It's well known that The End is made of numerous tracks.

A studio performance isn't the same thing as a PJ concert as far as singing is concerned. I don't know much about the quality of Ed's studio work though. The only thing i can think of was a quote from i believe ITW and it was something very positive as him using his voice as an instrument.

What bothered me regarding the mixing of vocals on the leaks is that at times it sounds as the vocals were aligned to the beat with more precision than it needed which i also noticed in some layered vocals. They sound edited to the point it sounded like a chorus effect. I wonder if some of the music changed after Ed did the vocals so BOB aligned the takes. I doubt i'd notice it as much if it was just a minor adjustment.

I guess the modern vocal mixing techniques were invented for singers that aren't really able to express any with their singing. It's sad that those same approaches are very effective at sucking it out of even those that are still able to express it with their voices.

And Nina was a mesmerizing singer.

Isn't LB being released on the 11th somewhere? I think most other countries are getting it before the states....

I hope to have this thing before I run a Ragnar relay next weekend, wouldn't mind trekking to some LB.

Cool thanks for the info, that is strange, worst case is it'll leak that week. Pretty sure BS leaked about 2 weeks out from the official release.
