CHildren aren't willing participants in anything. They aren't fully formed human beings. No pre frontal cortex.
They dont understand what is going on and that is why adults prey on them.
It’s an ugly comment but it’s said in relationship to the cynical context this whole debate and film are framed.
It literally paints these parents as people who offered their two sons up on a plate.
And somehow he engineered it. When in fact they sought him out.
Robson family even moving to America to take advantage of him and what he could do for their son

Abuse and power? So visiting thousands of kids in hospital over decades is abuse of power?
Hardly.
Watch any minute or flick through this

Dime he did that and he also did the other part. You dont think he abuse their minds? You dont think the guy clearly walked the line between what right and wrong with the mind of a seven years old kid? And im not talking about the movie.

I really don’t. No.
You’re going off this documentary.
It’s hardly the most well investigated well balanced production.
Can you see that much?

Ok, so i ask....what the narrative you believe? He wasnt a sex abuser, or an abuser of any kind, he was a very kind soul and the things he did were because he felt alone?

Pretty much.
I know stories from his time here in Ireland with people I know Indirectly that reflect the same behaviour. He just loved normality and it was almost a holiday to wash the dishes and walk to the shops for milk. *only outlier here was this was when he had his own kids. So for balance that could change the view of it.
Nobody here had anything but glowing terms and stories about him. My pal Ciaran worked at the studio he rented here in west Meath(outside Dublin) and he said he was a perfect gent. The kids were lovely and only weirdness was they were so polite and totally unspoiled, he was a great dad and the only rule was you couldn’t curse / swear around him. A weird thing cos we here swear constantly. Part of the vernacular. It happened and when it did he’d giggle. He loved ‘feck’ in particular and watched father ted on his own time.
I wasn’t there for any of that but my pal has no reason to lie.

PS
On safechuck
The actual jacket work in the thriller video was bought by an Australian millionaire and is in some collection.
He also claimed Harrison ford gave him Indy’s whip, when in fact there was only one whip and George Lucas donated it to the London museum of archaeology.

We’re not really going to “blame” the media for the “toxic” view that a grown man shouldn’t sleep with young boys he has no relation to, are we? Because just about any sane, rational person in the world, if asked if they would let their child do that, would look at you like you’re from outer space. It’s completely preposterous.
These parents were somewhat manipulated by MJ, but I believe they were also looking to improve their position in life by entertaining MJ’s desires. If a grown man you barely know wants to whisk your kids off to bed with him behind closed doors, and that doesn’t set off alarm bells, you’re unfit to be a parent. And if your only reasoning for allowing it is because he’s rich, famous, and severely emotionally stunted, you’re even more unfit. You can say MJ had all the power, but the parents of these kids had the power to walk away when things got weird. They didn’t as they were all looking for some sort of payday. That certainly weakens their case, but it doesn’t render MJ innocent in the public eye, nor does it absolve him of his actions, which frankly allow these sorts of stories some credibility.

Good post.
Well it seems the content and statements they’ve made in the film contradict what they’ve both said previously, sometimes wildly contradicts it. Both lads and their mothers.
If they do intend on going to court and they are, a barely competent legal team will take them apart.
I don’t think there was any power or grooming going on but it’s easy to put it In that light given he’s left himself wide open for it at the time and they have the advantage of no reply from him at this point. Though that could be a huge disadvantage also
